CHAIN SAW FILES(11050)
WARNING: Follow proper sharpening procedures. Improper maintenance and sharpening of saw
Chain will greatly increase danger of kickback.
File all cutters on one side. Move to other side of chain and file allcutters opposite to complete sharpening. File all cutters identically.
1. Using correct size round file, apply pressure horizontally intocutter filing in direction of arrow.
2. One cutter has been filed, the leading edge, when viewed fromthe side, should hook slightly forward (A).
3. The cutting edge at the outermost tip of the top plate should beslanted at 60° . The chain will cut best when all cutters are filed to the same length (B).
4. Lower the depth gauges with a flat file ( C).
CAUTION: Do not alter guard link tangs (D) except when filing depth gauges. Do not hook cutter more than recommended (A), and do not exceed 0.025" (. 064mm) depth gauge clearance ( C).
Any deviation from these recommendations will greatly increase the danger of kickback
